The best Innertune alternatives: affirmation apps like Innertune, compared

Beginner10 minute readUpdated October 2026
the short answer

The best Innertune alternative for most people is Solulu, the iPhone app we make. It puts affirmations inside mind movies with you in the scenes. So you see the life your affirmations describe, instead of only hearing it. For affirmations in your own voice, try ThinkUp. For a free line on your Lock Screen, try I am. For affirmations written from your goals, try Soul. For a future-self voice, try Aya.

We make Solulu, one of the apps on this list. This page is about Innertune, the affirmations app.

Looking for InnerTune, the open-source YouTube Music app for Android? That is a different app with the same name, and it is listed as discontinued. Everything below is about Innertune affirmations.

What Innertune is, in one minute

Innertune plays spoken affirmations on a loop, over background music, for as long as you like.

Innertune: Daily Affirmations is made by Innertune Media Inc. in Canada. Its App Store page lists 77,000 affirmations and more than 550 playlists. It also has 19 voices and over 100 background beats. You press play and let it loop while you work, walk or sleep.

Premium is the paid version. It adds playlists that AI makes from a short request, all the voices and beats, and offline listening. It also lets you record affirmations in your own voice.

Innertune has 4.8 stars from 12,000 ratings on the App Store. It has 4.6 stars from 14,000 reviews on Google Play.

People who love Innertune love the choice. They like the voices, the beats and hearing affirmations in their own voice. Some like the binaural beats, which are sounds made to help you relax or focus. If that is you, keep those things in mind as you compare.

Why people look for an Innertune alternative

People leave Innertune for one of two reasons. Either the app has problems, or affirmations alone stop feeling like enough.

  • Bugs. A common complaint is crashes after updates, with lost recordings and lost progress.
  • Support. Another common complaint is that emails to support go unanswered.
  • The words stop feeling real. Many people love affirmations. But after months of listening, they want to see what the words describe. The next section explains why that happens.

If one of these is your reason, there is an app below that fixes it.

When affirmations stop feeling true

Affirmations work best when you can see what they describe. After months of listening, many people feel that gap.

An affirmation is a short line about yourself, said as “I” and in the present tense. For example, “I am loved” or “I live in my dream apartment.” Repeating lines like these every day is one of the oldest manifestation practices. You repeat the wish until it sinks in. The new story becomes normal to you, and then it shows up in your life.

The hard part comes while your life has not caught up yet. “They text me first every morning” can feel hollow while your phone is quiet. Playing the line ten thousand times can still feel like only words. That is because you are hearing it, not living it.

What fixes it is a picture you can feel. You see yourself in the moment the line describes, and it feels done. That is why affirmations are so strong together with visualization, which means picturing the scene.

So the best alternative for you may not be a bigger library. It may be a different kind of practice. Our guide to writing affirmations that work covers the words. This page covers the tools.

The best Innertune alternatives

Here are six options, with who each one suits. Solulu is first because it fits most people leaving Innertune. The four reasons are below.

1. Solulu: affirmations with you in the scene

Solulu is an iPhone app that makes mind movies of the life you want, with you in the scenes. A mind movie is a short video of that life. You describe the life you want and add your photos. You can also add photos of your SP (your specific person), places, outfits, pets and things you want.

Each mind movie has a calm kaleidoscope opening, scenes of you living that life, affirmations and music. You get up to three new mind movies each week as your goals grow.

  • Best for: anyone whose affirmations started to feel like empty words. You still get the affirmations and the music. Now you also see yourself living them.
  • Not for: Android users, since it is iPhone only. Also not for anyone who wants hours of background audio.

2. ThinkUp: affirmations in your own voice

ThinkUp lets you pick affirmations from a list or write your own. You record each one in your own voice and play them on a loop over music. The app advises picking at least 15 affirmations and playing them for 5 minutes a day.

  • Best for: people who liked Innertune’s own-voice recording most. ThinkUp is a simpler app built around that.
  • Free version: yes, a small one that lets you record a few affirmations.
  • Rating: 4.7 stars from 7,500 ratings on the App Store.
  • Know first: it has had no feature update since 2025. A common complaint is recordings lost after a reinstall or a new phone.

3. I am: a free line on your Lock Screen

I am shows a short “I am” affirmation through the day. It appears on your Lock Screen, in widgets, on Apple Watch and in reminders. It is the most rated app of its kind, with 4.8 stars from 735,000 ratings on the App Store.

  • Best for: a free, easy reminder instead of a long listening session.
  • Free version: yes, with ads.
  • Know first: it shows lines of text. It is not a listening app. A common complaint is reminders that will not stop.

4. Soul: affirmations written from your goals

Manifest & Affirmations - Soul asks you to type what you want. Then it writes affirmations for those wishes. It adds reminders, widgets and visualizations set to calm music.

  • Best for: people who scrolled Innertune’s huge library and never found lines that felt like theirs.
  • Rating: 4.8 stars from 3,700 ratings on the App Store.
  • Know first: it is iPhone and Mac only.

5. Aya: a future-self voice instead of a list

Aya plays a short recording of your “dream self” describing your life. It also has spoken affirmations, playlists, subliminals and sleep stories. Subliminals are affirmations hidden under music.

  • Best for: people who want something more personal than a playlist. It is audio, on iPhone or Android.
  • Rating: 4.8 stars from 3,200 ratings on the App Store.
  • Know first: a common complaint is that Aya’s stories do not loop. That matters if looping is what you loved about Innertune. See the best Aya alternatives.

6. Free: record your own

Your phone can do the basics for free. Write 10 to 15 affirmations. Record them in a voice memo app, with quiet music playing in the background. Play the recording every morning and night.

  • Best for: anyone who wants no subscription at all.
  • Know first: there is no library, no beats and no reminders. You do it all yourself.

Innertune and its alternatives, side by side

Solulu is the only option here where you see yourself living what your affirmations say.

Where Innertune is still the better choice

Innertune does some things better than any other app here.

  • Hours of audio. Maybe you like affirmations playing while you work, clean or sleep. Innertune is built for that. Solulu is a few focused minutes, not a background track.
  • Choice. No other app here comes close to 77,000 affirmations, 19 voices and over 100 beats.
  • Android. Innertune is on Google Play. Solulu is iPhone only.

Why Solulu is the best Innertune alternative: four reasons

For most people, Solulu is the better choice. The same four reasons apply every time.

1. You see yourself living it

Innertune gives you a voice saying lines. ThinkUp gives you your own voice. I am and Soul give you text, and Aya gives you a future-self voice. All of them are words.

Solulu keeps the affirmations. It adds the thing they were always about, which is your own face, already living the scene. “I am loved” becomes you, laughing at dinner with your person. It feels like a memory, not a wish. And what feels done in your mind is what comes into your life.

Research supports this. A well known study took place the night before the 2004 US election. Voters who pictured themselves voting, as if they watched from the outside, were more likely to really vote. Seeing yourself do something is powerful. It helps you know you are someone who does it.

2. It does not depend on your imagination

Say a voice tells you “I live in my dream apartment.” You still have to make that apartment in your head. If you picture things easily, that is fine.

Many people do not. Some cannot make pictures in their mind at all. This is called aphantasia. For them, a loop of lines stays just a loop of lines. With Solulu the scene is in front of you, so all your energy goes into feeling it.

3. It never goes stale

Most practices repeat the same words, audio or pictures every day. After a few weeks, your mind gets used to them and the feeling fades. The Solulu method makes refreshing part of the practice, and Solulu keeps making new mind movies of you as your story moves on. So what you watch never goes stale.

4. It is easy to keep doing

Innertune asks you to choose from tens of thousands of affirmations and hundreds of playlists. Then you keep it playing. ThinkUp asks you to record.

Solulu asks for a few minutes at two set times, when you wake up and before you sleep. You do not choose tracks or record anything. You also get new mind movies each week as your goals grow. So what you watch keeps up with what you want.

How to switch from Innertune

Cancel through the store you paid with. Then bring your favorite affirmations with you.

Cancel Innertune first

Innertune says Apple or Google manages every store subscription. So cancel there, at least 24 hours before your next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel it.

  1. On iPhone: open Settings and tap your name. Tap Subscriptions, tap Innertune, then tap Cancel Subscription.
  2. On Android: open Subscriptions in Google Play. Select Innertune and tap Cancel subscription.
  3. If you paid Innertune directly, not through Apple or Google, its terms say to email privacy@innertune.com to cancel.

Innertune does not give refunds for store purchases itself. Ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, or ask Google through your Play order history. Our guide on how to cancel a manifestation app subscription has every app’s steps in one place.

Turn your favorite affirmations into scenes

Before you cancel, open your liked affirmations. Copy the five you love most into your notes. Write down the words of any you recorded yourself.

Then give each one a scene. The scene is the moment that would prove the line is true. Keep the affirmation as a line under the scene, the way a mind movie does.

For your SP, “I am deeply loved” becomes:

We are on the sofa after dinner, my feet in their lap. They look up from their phone and say, “I love this. Just us.” I am wearing the necklace they gave me.

For money, “Money comes to me easily” becomes:

I tap my card at the furniture store for the cream sofa I saved on my phone months ago. I do not check the balance first.

For your glow-up, “I am confident in my body” becomes:

I catch my reflection in a shop window on my way to brunch, in my white linen dress, and I smile at her.

Look at these scenes every morning and night, and say the line as you do. That is the Solulu method. It means one specific scene, with you inside it, every day, until it becomes part of your life.

You can do it with a photo and no app at all. Or you can put these scenes into Solulu. Then you watch them as mind movies with you in them.
