The Solulu method vs the 369 method: which one should you use?
The 369 method suits people who love writing and a counted routine. You write one line 3 times in the morning, 6 times in the afternoon and 9 times at night. It is a repetition method. You repeat the wish until it sinks in, and it shows up in your life. For most people the Solulu method is the better pick. You repeat a scene you can see yourself in, not words. You do not have to imagine anything. And it takes a few minutes at two set moments, not 18 lines a day.
What the 369 method is, and why people love it
The 369 method is a writing ritual. You pick one wish and write it down 3 times in the morning. Then you write it 6 times in the afternoon and 9 times at night. You do this every day.
Most people write the same short line in a notebook. They write it with “I”, as if it is true right now. For example: “I am so happy now that they text me every morning.” Guides often suggest a set number of days, usually 33 or 45. Some people say the line out loud as they write. Many end each session with “thank you.”
People often say the numbers come from Nikola Tesla. The story is that he called 3, 6 and 9 “a key to the universe.” But that quote does not appear in anything Tesla wrote or said. Fact checkers found its earliest version in a comment online, decades after his death.
The method itself became famous on TikTok and Facebook in late 2020 and early 2021. It belongs to the people who built and shared the routine there. So is the 369 method real or fake? The Tesla story is not real, but the practice is. Its power never came from Tesla. It is a repetition method, like affirmations and subliminals. You repeat one wish until it sinks in and you believe it is coming.
The 369 method has three good parts:
- Repetition. You meet the same wish 18 times a day. What you meet every day starts to feel normal, and what feels normal shows up.
- Writing. Writing slows you down. You cannot write a line nine times without paying some attention to it.
- Fixed times. Morning, afternoon and night give the wish three set places in your day. Research on habits supports this. People who decide exactly when they will do something are more likely to do it.
So the 369 method works by repetition. You write the same wish every day until it sinks in. Then it shows up in your life.
The Solulu method works a different way. It comes from the Law of Assumption, where you see and feel the wish as already done. So the real question is what you repeat: a line, or a scene you live in.
Each method in three lines
Both methods repeat one wish every day. The 369 method repeats a sentence. The Solulu method repeats a scene.
- What you do: write one line about your wish 3, 6 and 9 times across the day.
- How long: about 10 minutes a day in total, over three sessions.
- What you need: a notebook, a pen and one line.
The Solulu method
- What you do: write one specific moment from the life you want and see yourself in it. Watch it every morning and night, with fresh pictures every few days.
- How long: a few minutes, twice a day.
- What you need: your scene, and a photo or mind movie with you in it. A mind movie is a short video of your wishes, with words and music.
Side by side
Both are daily habits. The difference is what you repeat, and how often you stop to do it.
| The 369 method | The Solulu method | |
|---|---|---|
| Minutes a day | About 10, in three sessions | A few, at two set moments |
| Effort | Medium: 18 lines, counted | Low: you look and feel |
| Needs a strong imagination? | No, but lines can feel empty without a picture | No, the scene is in front of you |
| What you need | Notebook, pen, one line | One scene, and a photo or mind movie of you in it |
| Best goals | Short wishes that fit in one sentence | Any goal you can turn into a moment: love, home, money, career |
| How people track progress | Ticking off days, then seeing the wish show up | The scene feels like a memory, then it comes into your life |
Where the 369 method is better
The 369 method is the better fit for some people. Here is who.
- You love structure. Counting lines and ticking off days gives a clear feeling of “done.” If a checklist keeps you going, 369 is a very satisfying ritual.
- You love writing. Some people find a pen and notebook calming in a way no screen is. For them, the writing is the practice.
- It needs nothing. A pen and any piece of paper. No photos, no phone.
- Three times a day. The afternoon session brings your wish back in the middle of the day. That is when most people have forgotten it.
- It suits “who I am” goals. “I am confident and calm in every room” is easier to write than to picture as one moment.
- It is easy to share. You can do a 33-day run with a friend and check in with each other. Doing it together helps you keep going.
Where the Solulu method is better
For most people, the Solulu method is the better choice. There are four reasons.
1. You see yourself living it
The 369 method gives you words. Even a beautiful line is still a sentence about a life you cannot see. By line 14 at night, it is easy to find yourself copying, not feeling.
The Solulu method shows you your own face, already living the scene. You and your person laugh together in your kitchen. You see it, instead of reading a sentence about it. Seeing yourself there makes it feel like a memory, not a wish. When it feels done in your mind, it becomes part of your life.
In one well known study, people pictured themselves voting, as if watching from the outside. Those people were more likely to actually go and vote. Seeing yourself in a scene is powerful, and the Solulu method has you do it every day.
2. It does not depend on your imagination
On paper, the 369 method does not ask you to imagine anything. That is part of why people like it. But in practice, a line only feels true when some picture comes with it. When no picture comes, doubt fills the gap. You start to wonder, “is this even working?”
The usual fix is to picture the scene while you write. But that brings back the hardest part of manifesting. You have to build a picture in your head and hold it there.
With the Solulu method, you do not have to build the picture. It is right in front of you. All your energy goes into the feeling. Neville Goddard was a manifesting teacher from the mid-1900s. He said the feeling matters most. When you feel the wish as already true, it hardens into fact.
3. It never goes stale
Most methods give you the same words or the same pictures every day. After a few weeks, your mind gets used to them and the feeling fades. That is why so many people keep switching methods. The Solulu method makes refreshing part of the practice. Every few days, you swap in a fresh picture or the next moment in the same life, so the feeling stays strong.
4. It is easy to keep doing
The 369 method is 18 lines a day, in three separate sessions. One of them falls in the afternoon, when you are at school or work. Guides tell you not to skip a day. So one missed afternoon can feel like breaking the whole run, and it is easy to give up there.
The Solulu method takes a few minutes at two set moments: when you wake up and before you sleep. You already have those moments every day, with your phone already in your hand. There is nothing to count and nothing to restart.
One wish, both ways
Here is the same wish done each way, so you can feel the difference. The first wish is about your SP, short for “specific person.” That is the one person you want to be with.
Your SP, the 369 way:
“I am so happy now that they text me good morning every day.” Written 3 times, then 6, then 9.
Your SP, the Solulu way:
I wake up and my phone is already lit up: “Morning. Thinking about you.” I smile into my pillow and type back with one hand, the other still under the blanket.
Notice which one you feel. The line tells you the wish. The scene puts you inside it: the phone, the pillow, the smile. Your SP is in it, but the moment is yours.
A money wish, the 369 way: “I am so grateful now that I earn $5,000 a month.”
The same wish, as a scene:
It is payday. I check my banking app on the bus, see the number, and text my sister: “Dinner is on me this weekend. Pick anywhere.”
A home wish, the 369 way: “I live in my own apartment.”
The same wish, as a scene:
I drop my keys in the little dish by my door, kick off my shoes and open the balcony door. My plants need water. My apartment smells like the candle I lit this morning.
A good scene is one hyper-specific moment. It has one thing you could see and one thing you could feel. Every 369 line has a scene hiding inside it. To find it, ask yourself what you would be doing on the first normal day this is true.
Use both: a combined routine
You do not have to give up your notebook. If you love 369, keep it, and add a picture to your lines.
- Turn your line into a scene sentence. Do not write “they text me every morning.” Write “I wake up to their good morning text and smile into my pillow.” This is still one line. But now it has something to see.
- Morning: look at your scene for a minute. This is a photo or mind movie with you in it. Then write your scene sentence 3 times.
- Afternoon: write it 6 times. If you are busy, look at your scene on your phone instead. Do not let one missed session end your run.
- Night: write it 9 times. Then look at your scene one last time before you sleep.
- Keep going for your 33 or 45 days. After the count ends, keep looking at your scene morning and night.
This keeps everything 369 lovers enjoy: the ritual, the count, the pen. And it adds the part words cannot give you, which is seeing it.
If the counting starts to feel like something you have to do, take a break. Do the same if you feel anxious when you miss a line. Manifesting should feel calm. Come back to it when it feels light again.
The verdict, by reader
For most readers, the pick is the Solulu method. The 369 method wins for people who love a pen and a count.
| If you are… | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| New to manifesting | The Solulu method | One scene, two set moments: nothing to count or memorize |
| Someone who can’t picture things | The Solulu method | You look at the scene instead of building it in your head |
| Busy | The Solulu method | A few minutes when you wake and before you sleep, no afternoon session |
| A writer or journal lover | The 369 method with scene sentences, plus your scene morning and night | You keep the pen and add the picture |
| Manifesting your SP | The Solulu method | A love goal is a moment, and moments are seen, not counted |
How to start the Solulu method
You can start the Solulu method tonight, by hand or with an app.
- By hand. Write your scene with “I”, as if it is happening now. Find the closest photo you can, ideally with you in it. It might be you in a café, you with your friends, or you in the kind of kitchen you want. Look at it for a few minutes when you wake up and before you sleep. Then step into the moment.
- With the Solulu app. Solulu is the iPhone app we make. You describe the life you want and add your photos. You can also add photos of your SP, places, outfits, pets and things you want. The app makes mind movies with you in the scenes. Each one has a calm kaleidoscope opening, scenes of you living that life, affirmations and music. You get up to three new mind movies each week as your goals grow.
- Other tools. Use a photo editing app to put yourself into a picture. Or make a mind movie yourself in a free video editor.
Of the three, Solulu is the easiest way to do the Solulu method. The reasons are the same four reasons the method beats 369. You see your own face in every scene, not a line in a notebook. You do not have to imagine the scene, because you watch it. Fresh pictures keep it from going stale, so the practice never turns into copying lines. And it fits into two moments you already have.
